Conservation in the Federated States of Micronesia

Conservation in FSM happens because of many dedicated individuals living in those states. But there is also a large information gap, particularly for terrestrial invertebrates like land snails. Work to better understand the land snail faunas on these islands is ongoing. We need to know what is there in order to conserve it. Recognizing potential invasive snails and slugs is especially important. Some snails may also be used as indicators of forest health.
